An artist's paint brush.The brushes are used to add detail to the chocolates as well as allowing you to paint the outer casing of filled chocolates. You will need at least two different sizes depending on how much detail you would like to paint onto your chocolate molds. One should a fine brush for adding detail and another slightly larger for "bigger" work.

Purchase a good quality brush they will last longer than cheap brushes which tend to fall apart and leave bristles in you chocolate. You can buy these from any good art supply store.

Plastic gloves. These should be used when handling your finished chocolate to keep the natural shine and finger marks off the chocolate.


Basic Ingredients

Chocolate for molding. Compound chocolate is used and can be purchased from most supermarkets in blocks, chips and buttons. It is avaiable in dark, milk and white chocolate.

Coloring. White chocolate can be colored with oil based colors. You can purchase these from specialty shops. Normal food coloring is water based and if used will cause the chocolate to seize.

Flavorings.
The flavorings should be oil based and are very strong and should be used sparingly.
