(8oz) unsalted butter, cubed
6 large eggs 1 1/4 cups sugar 230g (8oz) Bittersweet Chocolate (plain dark chocolate) 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder sifted Preheat oven to 180C (350F, Gas Mark 4) 1. Grease a 20cm (7 inch) springform pan, line the base with baking paper. 2. Place the butter and chocolate in a heat proof bowl and place on top of a sauce pan of simmering water (make sure that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water), melt over simmering water stirring occassonally. Once melted remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. 3. Mix the dry ingredients together and then add the eggs mixing very well. 4. Add the melted chocolate mixture to the dry ingredients, mix well. 5. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan.
